OUR GUNS - Dove Hunting in Argentina

Many years ago it was commonplace for wingshooters traveling to Argentina to bring their own shotguns and only a small percentage would actually rent guns from the lodge.

However, today it is just the opposite as the majority of our guests are now renting guns from us.

At Sierra Brava Lodges, we are always upgrading our inventory so you hunt with a gun as good as yours, with more than 100 guns in total, ranging from 20 and 28 gauge Brownings, Berettas, and Benellis as well as over and under pieces.

Due to the high volume of shells necessary to successfully participate in our high-volume dove shooting, we add new guns to our gun room on a regular basis.

What shotguns are best?

The most common (and comfortable) gun for dove shooting in Cordoba is a semi-auto 20 gauge. In general, the preferred models for the high-volume shooting conditions are the 20 gauge shotguns, although comparable models work well too.

Why rent guns from us?

Sierra Brava maintains a terrific selection of 20 gauge semi-autos as well as a smaller selection of 28 gauge over/unders. Rental guns are cleaned each night by our staff for optimum performance in the field. Remember that in one day of dove hunting in Cordoba a shotgun could cycle through several thousand shells. This is a lot of wear and tear on a gun... renting our guns can extend the life of yours. An important aspect to rake into account is that renting makes the travel experience quicker and easier.

Why bring my own guns?

Our guns fit most adults, but smaller women and children may want to bring their own custom-fit guns. Left-handed shotguns are very difficult to find in Argentina. If you would like to shoot a left-handed semi-auto shotgun, we recommend bringing your own.
